NKSFB, LLC is the largest business management firm in the country, with more than 650 employees working from six offices in the Los Angeles and New York City area. We work alongside the world’s top artists in music, film, and television, as well as athletes, executives, entrepreneurs, and other high achievers, offering a sophisticated range of concierge-style services to meet their lifestyle management needs.

The Role:

The Tax work conducted by NKSFB lies at a unique intersection of entertainment and accounting. Those who are curious about the accounting and wealth management of entertainers and other high-net-worth individuals will gain practical experience with various tax return preparation, tax research, and planning concepts while working alongside top professionals in the industry.

We are seeking 2027 summer tax interns to join our Tax practice and learn about a variety of tax-related services in the ever-changing business management landscape. Our summer interns have the opportunity to kickstart their careers, and learn about the entertainment industry from a unique perspective in a team-oriented, fast-paced work environment.

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Duration: June 2027 – August 2027 (must be able to participate in a minimum of 8+ weeks of the internship program)

What You Will Do:

In addition to the work you’ll perform with your direct team, you’ll participate in internship curriculum alongside our Business Management and Compliance Audit interns, which includes touchpoints with several of our lead partners sharing their wisdom about starting a career in the business management industry, career planning and resume building workshops, business etiquette and professional development presentations, team projects, and philanthropic initiatives.

The program is engineered to show you what it’s like to work at NKSFB as an entry-level staff tax accountant. Here are some of the many things you will do as a 2027 summer tax intern:

  • Prepare returns start to finish. Individual, partnership, and corporate returns, plus quarterly estimates, extensions, and projections. You will see how the pieces connect instead of touching one slice of the process.
  • Research federal and state tax issues. Dig into the kinds of questions our tax teams field every day and bring your findings back to the group.
  • Build the foundation of every return. Gather, input, and reconcile financial data, tying each entry back to supporting records. This is where accuracy is won or lost, and where you learn to think like a tax accountant.
  • Assemble review-ready workpapers. Learn what reviewers look for, and get direct feedback on what you put together.
  • Work through notices and information requests. Assist with responses to the IRS and state and local authorities, and see firsthand how those issues get resolved.
  • Take on additional projects as assigned. Business management moves quickly and no two clients look alike, so no two weeks will either.

You will do it alongside professionals who serve some of the most recognizable names in entertainment, sports, and business.

What You Need To Succeed:

  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Self-motivated with excellent organization skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must.
  • Attention to detail and ability to multi-task is an asset.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Friendly and professional demeanor.
  • Ability to work well with a team and pitch in when needed.

Educational Preferences:

  • Anticipated graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028.
  • Pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related business discipline.
  • On track to meet CPA licensing educational requirements upon graduation is a plus, but not required.
  • Completion of introductory Financial Accounting and Managerial Accounting coursework.
  • Completion of tax coursework and Intermediate Accounting coursework is a plus, but not required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Standing, walking, crouching, and regular lifting up to 15 pounds.
  • Frequent use of hands and reaching with hands and arms.
  • Regularly talking, hearing, seeing, and sitting.
  • Moderate to loud noise level.
  • Risk of electrical shock.

Recruiting Process:

  1. Apply to the 2027 Summer Tax Internship Program on the NKSFB Careers page.
  2. Answer all questions and writing prompts listed within the application.
  3. Submit a resume and your unofficial transcripts (from all colleges/universities you’ve attended) with your application.
  4. If selected, you will be contacted by an NKSFB recruiter to join a virtual interview.
  5. Offer decision – you will be notified by a recruiter on the final decision concerning your application.

Salary Range:

The salary range for this role is $24/hr. – $26/hr. and represents the firm’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of compensation at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant experience, qualifications, and location.
