Michael Karlin is a founding partner of NKSFB. He is responsible for managing the business and financial affairs of many high-net-worth and high-net-income clients comprised of business executives, real estate developers and operators, and entertainment industry screenwriters, actors, musicians, composers, publishers, producers, directors and executives. 

Michael’s focus is Business Management, and he specializes in: 

• Financial planning review and implementation 

• Cash flow management and planning 

• Generational planning 

• Contract review 

• Tax planning 

Michael has been continuously recognized as one of the entertainment industry’s top Business Managers by The Hollywood Reporter, Variety and Billboard. In November of 2015, he received Variety‘s Business Manager Elite Award. 

Michael is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants. He attended the University of Southern California, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting in 1976 and a Masters of Business Taxation degree in 2009. Michael gave the commencement speeches at the 2010 and 2025 graduation ceremony for the USC Leventhal School of Accounting. 

Michael serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Motion Picture and Television Fund, Westcoast Sports Associates, SYDA Foundation and Matthew Silverman Memorial Foundation, and serves on the Board of Advisors of the University of Southern California Leventhal School of Accounting.
